Most of the times, we seek God mainly when we need something. We don’t seek God without wanting something, while we want that thing our desire to fellowship with him grows, we try so hard to be on our best behaviour. But once that need is met, the desire falls like gravity, we totally forget to pray or if not totally just once in a while prayer ,so it won’t be like you are backsliding. This ought not to be so,we ought to seek God whether or not we want something, once in a while we need to make up our mind not to ask God for anything and just praise him from the bottom of our hearts.
Things like this moves God to even give you what you haven’t yet asked for or what you don’t even think you need. The Bible says that God will reward those who diligently seek him. So don’t make it and habit to seek God only when you feel you need him.
I’m partly sure nobody wants a friend that only comes to you when he/she needs something and after you have met that need, he/she totally forgets you exist and if you are lucky he/she remembers, you will be treated like an acquaintance. So if you are sure you don’t want that kind of friend ,then don’t be that kind of friend to God. Remember you only reap what you have sown.
It’s important to seek God not just in times of need but in all seasons of life. Developing a consistent relationship with Him allows for a deeper connection and spiritual growth. Praising God from the heart, without always making requests, can strengthen faith and bring unexpected blessings. How can we cultivate a habit of seeking God daily, beyond just our moments of need?
This is a thought-provoking reflection on our relationship with God. It’s true that we often turn to Him only in times of need, but this shouldn’t be the case. Seeking God should be a constant, not just a reaction to our struggles. I wonder, though, how can we cultivate a deeper, more consistent connection with Him? It’s easy to say we should praise Him without asking for anything, but in practice, it’s much harder. Do you think it’s possible to truly seek God without any ulterior motives? I’d love to hear your thoughts on how to make this a daily habit. Also, how do you personally ensure that your relationship with God isn’t just transactional? Let’s discuss this further!
This is a thought-provoking reflection on our relationship with God. It’s true that we often turn to Him only in times of need, but this shouldn’t be the case. Seeking God should be about genuine connection, not just asking for favors. I wonder, though, how can we cultivate a consistent desire to seek Him without ulterior motives? The idea of praising Him without asking for anything is powerful, but it’s easier said than done. Do you think it’s possible to completely separate our needs from our worship? I’d love to hear your thoughts on how to maintain that balance. Also, how do you think God feels when we only come to Him in times of trouble? Let’s discuss this further—what’s your take?
